“What I am is good enough, if I would only be it openly”

— Carl Rogers

Therapy is different for each individual and it changes over time. The process of exploring and changing things about or within ourselves requires effort, investment and care. My practice is largely informed by the theories of Developmental Transformations drama therapy, which posits that the world (including us) contains many elements of instability: we can’t control most of them, but our response to these tremors is something we can explore and develop, which can have a positive impact within and outside of the therapy room.

If i am working with you or your child, I work to create a relationship of trust and ongoing growth towards greater mutual understanding. Within this encounter we can reflect on challenges and explore new thoughts, feelings, and patterns of behavior. We grow together.

I work out of a comfortable private office in Koreatown, in an easy-to-access neighborhood close to Herald Square and most subway lines.

I am no longer in-network for any insurance plans, but I can provide you with a statement which you can use to request out-of-network reimbursement if you have those benefits. In some cases I can submit those claims for you. In addition, I have a number of sliding scale rate slots for individuals who need financial assistance to support their therapy.

If someone is interested in working with me (or is interested for their child to work with me) I usually begin with a 20-minute phone or online consultation to explore what you are looking for and to get a sense of each other.

Currently I am working with a mix of in-person and teletherapy sessions, but I have found that even through an online connection clients can find creative, embodied, and artistic ways to explore their stories.

If you are looking for a therapist for yourself or for someone you care about, please don’t hesitate to email me at adamreynoldsphd@gmail.com.
