Groups and Training in Developmental Transformations Drama Therapy (DvT)

For drama therapists and allied professionals (social workers, counselors, psychologists) who are looking for embodied methodologies and innovative approaches to use to engage with clients, I am partnered with Tami Gatta as part of Curious Rebels, a training organization that provides continuing education and skills training for people looking to make changes.

As part of that training progrtam I also run the New York Institute for Developmental Transformations Drama Therapy (DvT). This method has been used for more than 25 years with individuals facing many different challenges. It emphasizes a playful, embodied encounter between the participants, helping to reduce the tension related to the interacting with and trusting others

Groups for processing and working through institutional trauma

We spend more time than ever at our jobs, and our co-workers become our friends and support systems. However, many institutions don’t have space or capacity to address when there are conflicts, losses, or unexpected events. Having an outside voice and creative perspective to help identify difficult dynamics and shift patterns can support a group’s mental health and reconnect them to the satisfying and meaningful parts of their work.

Therapeutic Roleplaying Groups for Adolescents

Beginning in Fall 2020, I began (initially online) roleplaing groups for adolescents dealing with issues of depression, anxiety, and/or difference. Five group members designed a character with me to address issues they are dealing with in their lives, and then play those characters within the group over a six-session campaign. More Information.
